The Stevens Competition is held annually by the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and is for glass artists in the first eight years of their practice. Each year a brief is given for a real commission to design window(s), make a sample panel and provide things like costings and technical statements.

I entered in 2014 and won the Prize for Presentation. This year I was delighted to win Third Prize. My prize included four volumes of A History of Design in Painted Glass by NHJ Westlake – a fabulous and compendious treasure trove of information that I am completely delighted to receive!

The brief this year was to design a set of three windows for The Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London. The design for my entry was based on gears and made in mosaic on satin glass.
