Stained glass applique
2014
This design is about the different routes you can take on a journey and the decision points along the way.
At the top of each strip the journeys become a single path which, if you followed them upwards all converge on a single point. A reflection that sometimes life is more about the journey rather than the destination and that there are many ways to achieve what you want in life. The ‘decision points’ are represented by marbles and each strip hangs independently so that they move backwards and forwards in a breeze.
This piece was made for a temporary sculpture trail – Art in the Garden at the Sir Harold Hiller Gardens, near Romsey.
