Statement
I make stained glass windows, window hangings and glass jewellery and take inspiration from a wide range of sources. This includes body modifications such as tattooing, piercing and less permanent means of self-expression such as hair styles, fashions and trends. I am also interested in medieval images including painted glass, illuminated manuscripts and stone and wood carvings. Recently I have started to use aerial photographs as a source of inspiration.
In May 2011 I won the Ashton Hill Award (2011-12) which is a training award given by the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass. The award is a ten week funded placement in a noted stained glass studio. As part of my award I will also be attending Jonathan Cooke's master glass painting course at Swansea Metropolitan University. I will be taking up my award at Barley Studios in York and hope to concentrate on further exploring glass painting and design. (More...)
